My motivation for starting HeatM8 was to try to upskill young dairy farmers in heat detection skills.

As an LIC technician visiting different dairy farms I became aware that many young farmers were lacking in basic heat detection skills. 

This impacted on the fertility performance of their herds.

There was also a lack of confidence in their heat detection ability.

There was also pressure to achieve industry targets which were only achieved by the top 25% of farmers.

I started by posting heat detection tips on facebook, this has been useful, but limiting, hence my recent move to put all the information in one place on this website for easy reference.
